The Dukes of Hazzard (2005)
14 May, 2008
This is the movie of the 70′s series of the same name. It has one of my favorite funny-guys Seann William-Scott and my favorite muscle car, the 1969 Dodge Charger named as the General Lee. The movie also has other muscle cars too as it features an old school rally with Mustangs, Camaros etcetera. AND it stars Jessica Simpson as Daisy Duke, reason enough??
Bullitt (1968)
16 April, 2008
Starring the King of Cool, Steve McQueen as a cop investigating a a murder case blah blah… The main reason to watch the movie is because it contains one of the best car chases of all times. A 10-minute long scene in which a Dodge Challenger chases a Mustang on the streets of San Francisco. Need I say more?
Gone in Sixty Seconds (2000)
7 April, 2008
The remake of the 1974 gone in 60 seconds starring Nicholas Cage as Randall “Memphis” Raines who is a retired car thief and has to steal 50 cars in one night to save his brother’s neck. Also starring is the 1967 Shelby Gt500 by the name of Eleanor. A must watch!
The Junkman (1982)
2 April, 2008
This is supposedly a sequel to 1974′s Gone in 60 Seconds. It follows the life of the same character, Halicki as he tries to make a movie about cars and has to face goons hired by his partner who are out to kill him. The movie is full of amazing cars , real chases and crashes, and edge-of-your-seat action.
Gone in 60 seconds (1974)
2 April, 2008
The original Gone in 60 Seconds featuring H. B. Halicki as Maidrian Pace who is an insurance investigator and a car thief and has to steal 48 cars for a client. Also starring the 1973 Ford Mustang as Eleanor. This movie is a long car chase and a must have in your collection.
Vanishing Point (1971)
1 April, 2008
Kowalski, the hero of the story, works for a car delivery service. He takes delivery of a 1970 Dodge Challenger to take from Colorado to Frisco, California. Shortly after pickup, he takes a bet to get the car there in less than 15 hours. After a few run-ins with motorcycle cops and highway patrol they start a chase to bring him into custody. Along the way, Kowalski is guided by Supersoul – a blind DJ with a police radio scanner. Throw in lots of chase scenes, gay hitchhikers, a naked woman riding a motorbike, lots of Mopar and you’ve got a great cult hit from the early 70′s.
The World’s Fastest Indian (2005)
31 March, 2008
The true life story of New Zealander Burt Munro, who spent years building a 1920 Indian motorcycle — a bike which helped him set the land-speed world record at Utah’s Bonneville Salt Flats in 1967. This movie shows how Burt struggles to get his bike half-way across the world to achieve his dream of racing at Bonneville.
P.S. I know it’s not a ‘car’ movie
Two-Lane Blacktop (1971)
31 March, 2008
The Driver and The Mechanic are two car freaks driving a 1955 Chevy throughout the southwestern U.S. looking for other cars to race. They are totally dedicated to The Car and converse with each other only when necessary. At a gas station, The Driver and The Mechanic, along with a girl who has ingratiated herself into their world, meet G.T.O., a middle-aged man who fabricates stories about his exploits. It is decided to have a race to Washington, D.C., where the winner will get the loser’s car. Along the way, the race and the highway metaphorically depict the lives of these contestants as they struggle to their destination.
